Car
From your current location, enter the nearest major highway to Duncannon. If you're traveling from Harrisburg, take I-81 N and then merge onto US-22 W. Follow US-22 W until you see signs for Duncannon. Once in Duncannon, follow the signs to the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. There is a small parking area along the road where you can park your vehicle. Note that parking is free, but it’s advisable to arrive early, especially on weekends, as spots can fill up quickly.

Public Transportation
If you're using public transportation, take a bus from Harrisburg to Duncannon. The RabbitTransit operates routes that can get you there. Once you arrive in Duncannon, you will need to walk approximately 1 mile to the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. Follow North Market Street to the trail entrance. Be sure to check the bus schedule ahead of time for return trips, as services might be limited on weekends.

Once you reach the Appalachian National Scenic Trail, the hike to Hawk Rock Overlook is approximately 1 mile uphill. The trail is well-marked, so follow the signs.
