Travel Guide to Penn's View Overlook

Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, start from the Bald Eagle State Park entrance. Follow the park road until you reach the intersection with Route 150. Turn left onto Route 150 North. Continue on Route 150 for about 2 miles until you reach the intersection with Woodward Road (also known as Route 144). Turn right onto Woodward Road and follow it for approximately 3 miles. Look for signs directing you to Penn's View Overlook. There is parking available at the overlook.

• Public Transportation

  If you are using public transportation, you will first need to reach the nearest bus or train station. There are no direct public transport routes to Penn's View Overlook. You will likely need to take a bus to the nearest town, such as Lock Haven or Bellefonte, and then arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to bring you to the park. Once you arrive at Bald Eagle State Park, follow the directions for car travel as outlined above to reach Penn's View Overlook.

• Biking/Walking

  For those who are adventurous, biking or walking may be an option if you are already within Bald Eagle State Park. Start from the park's main trailhead and follow the designated biking or hiking trails that lead towards Penn's View Overlook. Be prepared for a moderate trek, and ensure you have a map of the park's trails. It is advisable to wear sturdy shoes and bring water, as the trails can be rugged and may take longer to traverse than expected.
