Step Back in Time at Gettysburg Reenactment Field

Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving, start from the Gettysburg town center. Head southwest on Carlisle St toward Lincoln Square. Continue straight onto US-15 S (signs for Frederick). Take the exit toward PA-97 S. Merge onto PA-97 S and follow it for approximately 3 miles. Turn left onto Pumping Station Rd. The Gettysburg Reenactment Field will be on your left at 965 Pumping Station Rd, Gettysburg, PA 17325. There is no parking fee, but ensure to check for any specific parking regulations during events.

• Public Transportation

  If you're using public transportation, start by taking the Gettysburg Bus Line from the Gettysburg town center to the nearest bus stop. The closest stop to the Reenactment Field is on Route 97. From there, you will need to walk approximately 1.5 miles along Pumping Station Rd to reach 965 Pumping Station Rd, Gettysburg, PA 17325. Be prepared for a walk, as public transit options directly to the field can be limited, especially during non-event days.

• Bicycle

  For those who prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from a local shop in Gettysburg. Head southwest from the town center, following the same route as cars via US-15 S. You can cycle along the side of PA-97 S and then turn onto Pumping Station Rd. The Reenactment Field is approximately a 30-minute ride from the town center. Ensure to wear a helmet and follow local traffic laws.

• Walking

  If you are already in Gettysburg Battlefield and prefer walking, you can follow the walking trails that connect to Pumping Station Rd. It's roughly a 2-mile walk from the Visitor Center. Head southwest on Taneytown Rd, then take a left onto Pumping Station Rd. The Reenactment Field will be on your left. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water, especially during warmer months.
