Public Transit - Bus

If you are starting from downtown Pittsburgh, you can take the Port Authority Bus #51, #71, or #75 from the Wood Street Station. Board the bus and travel towards the South Shore. After a short ride, disembark at the South Shore stop. From there, walk toward the Monongahela Incline, which is only a short distance away. You will see signs directing you to the incline entrance.

Public Transit - T Light Rail

Begin at any T station in Pittsburgh's downtown area and take the light rail towards the South Hills Junction. Get off at the Station Square stop. Upon exiting the station, follow the signs towards the Monongahela Incline, which is a short walk across the riverfront park area. You'll see the incline's entrance once you reach the foot of the incline.

Walking

If you are in the vicinity of Point State Park, you can walk to the Monongahela Incline. Head southeast towards the river and walk along the riverfront path. Continue until you reach the Smithfield Street Bridge. Cross the bridge, and once you reach the other side, head left towards the incline. It’s a pleasant walk with views of the river and the city.
