Getting There

Start your journey from Iquitos, which is the nearest major city. Head northeast on the PE-5N road towards Nauta. Continue for about 90 kilometers until you reach Nauta. In Nauta, follow signs to the Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve. Once you reach the entrance of the reserve, you will need to pay an entrance fee of approximately 10 soles. After entering the reserve, drive to the town of Lagunas, which is about 30 kilometers from the entrance. You will follow the main dirt road until you arrive at the coordinates R72C+J4H, Lagunas 16550. Be mindful that the roads can be rough, so a 4x4 vehicle is recommended.

From Iquitos, take a colectivo (shared taxi) to Nauta. The journey will take about 1.5 to 2 hours and costs around 15-20 soles.
