Walking
From any point in Carmen, head towards the main road, which is called the Macapagal Avenue. If you're not sure where this is, ask locals for directions to Macapagal Avenue or the nearest jeepney terminal. Once on Macapagal Avenue, walk towards the direction of Cagayan de Oro City proper. After about 10-15 minutes of walking, you will see a sign for Gaston Park on your left. Continue walking until you reach the entrance of the park.
Jeepney
If you prefer a quicker option, you can take a jeepney from Carmen. Look for a jeepney heading towards 'Divisoria' or 'City Proper.' Board the jeepney and inform the driver that you would like to get off at Gaston Park. The fare is approximately 10 to 15 Philippine Pesos, depending on your starting point in Carmen. Once you arrive at the park, it will be on your right side.
Tricycle
For a more comfortable ride, you can hire a tricycle from anywhere in Carmen. Simply flag down a tricycle and tell the driver you want to go to Gaston Park. The fare may vary but expect to pay around 50 to 100 Philippine Pesos, depending on the distance. The driver will take you directly to the entrance of the park.
Use Gaston Park as your starting point for nearby food, family ideas, nightlife, and more local discoveries.
