Car
If you're traveling by car, you will first need to reach the port of Vinzons, which is the main jump-off point to Calaguas Island. From Manila, take the Pan-Philippine Highway (AH26) and follow the signs toward Daet. Once you reach Daet, continue to Vinzons. The travel time is approximately 6-8 hours, depending on traffic. Upon reaching Vinzons, park your car in one of the safe parking lots near the port (expect to pay a parking fee of around PHP 50-100). From the port, you will need to take a boat to Calaguas Island, which costs about PHP 1,500-2,000 per trip, depending on the boat's capacity and your negotiation skills.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, you can take a bus from Manila to Daet. Buses like Philtranco or A.C. M. Transport offer daily trips. The fare is around PHP 600-800 and the journey takes about 6-8 hours. Once you arrive in Daet, you will need to get to Vinzons. You can take a jeepney or tricycle to the Vinzons port, which should cost about PHP 50. At the port, purchase a ticket for the boat ride to Calaguas Island (PHP 1,500-2,000). The boat ride will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.
Boat
Upon arriving at Calaguas Island by boat, you will disembark on the main beach area. To get to Tinaga, you may need to hire a local bangka (small boat) or join a group tour if available. Communicate with locals for the best options, as prices can vary. Expect to pay around PHP 500-1,000 for a private boat ride to Tinaga, which may take about 15-30 minutes depending on the sea conditions.
Walking
If you are staying in a nearby resort or campsite on Calaguas Island, you may walk to Tinaga if it is accessible. Make sure to check with your accommodation about the best walking routes and any potential environmental concerns before proceeding.
