Getting There

    From Puerto Princesa, take a bus to Balabac. Buses depart from the San Jose Bus Terminal and the journey takes approximately 6 to 8 hours. Make sure to check the schedule as there are limited trips available, usually in the morning. The fare is around PHP 400-600.

  • Tricycle

    Once you arrive at Balabac, you need to take a tricycle to the Poblacion Barangay 5 area. The tricycle ride should cost around PHP 50-100 depending on your negotiation skills and distance.

  • Boat

    From the Poblacion area, you will need to hire a boat to take you to Onok Island. The boat ride may take about 30 minutes. It’s advisable to arrange this in advance through local boat operators. The boat fare can range from PHP 1,500 to PHP 3,000, depending on the size of the boat and number of passengers.

  • Walking

    Once you arrive on Onok Island, you may need to walk a short distance to reach the specific areas of interest or accommodation. The island is small and walking is the best way to explore.
