If you are traveling by car, start from the main area of Taal Volcano and head towards the town of Los Baños, Laguna. Take the road leading to the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) and exit at the Calamba exit. After exiting, follow the signs towards Los Baños. Once in Los Baños, look for the road leading to Mount Makiling, which is well-marked. You can park your vehicle at designated parking areas near the trailhead.

To reach Mount Makiling via public transportation, take a jeepney or bus from Taal Volcano to Calamba. The fare should be around 50-100 PHP, depending on your starting point. From Calamba, you can catch a jeepney heading to Los Baños, which will cost approximately 20 PHP. Once in Los Baños, ask locals for the jeepney routes that will take you closer to Mount Makiling, or take a tricycle for about 30-50 PHP to reach the trailhead.
