Experience Ołowianka

Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from the Gdańsk Main Train Station, exit the station and head towards the main street, 3 Maja Street. Walk straight for about 500 meters until you reach the intersection with Podwale Grodzkie Street. Turn left onto Podwale Grodzkie Street and continue walking for another 400 meters until you see the Green Gate (Zielona Brama) on your right. This is a historic building and a notable landmark in Gdańsk.

    From the Green Gate, continue towards the Motława River. You will see the riverbank in front of you. Once you reach the river, turn right and follow the promenade along the water. The walk alongside the river is scenic, with views of the historic buildings and the famous Gdańsk crane.

    Continue walking along the river promenade for about 1 kilometer. You will pass several restaurants and cafes on your left. Keep an eye out for the bridge that leads to Ołowianka Island. Cross the bridge, and you will arrive on Ołowianka Island.

    If you are located in the city center, you can take tram line 3 or 6 from the nearest tram stop (for example, Złota Brama). Ride the tram towards the stop called 'Wielkie Młyny'. Once you get off, walk towards the river and follow the same directions as above to reach Ołowianka Island.

  • Public Transport (Bus)

    Alternatively, you can take bus number 100 from any central bus stop. Get off at the 'Targ Rybny' stop, which is very close to the riverbank. From there, walk straight towards the Motława River, turn right, and follow the river promenade until you reach the bridge to Ołowianka Island.
