Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are in the Main Market Square (Rynek Główny), start by heading northeast towards the Floriańska Street. Walk along Floriańska Street until you reach the Barbican. From the Barbican, turn left and follow the road towards the Planty Park. Continue walking along the park until you see the entrance to the university area on your right. Walk into the university area, and you will soon arrive at Jan Matejko Square. The square is located just south of the university buildings.

  • Public Transport (Tram)

    If you are near the Main Market Square, walk to the nearest tram stop, 'Teatr Bagatela'. Catch tram number 4 or 8 in the direction of 'Kurdwanów' or 'Nowa Huta'. Ride for 2 stops and get off at 'Muzeum Narodowe'. From the tram stop, walk a short distance to the east, and you will find Jan Matejko Square right next to the museum.

  • Walking

    From the Wawel Castle, head north towards the Vistula Boulevards. Follow the boulevards until you reach the bridge over the river. Cross the bridge and continue straight, passing by the National Museum on your left. After about a 10-minute walk, you will arrive at Jan Matejko Square, which is located directly in front of the museum.

  • Public Transport (Bus)

    If you are near the Galeria Krakowska shopping center, go to the bus stop at 'Dworzec Główny'. Take bus number 130 or 152 and ride for 3 stops. Get off at 'Muzeum Narodowe'. From there, it is a short walk east to reach Jan Matejko Square.
