Car
If you are traveling by car, head towards Zakopane from any location in Podhale. Use the main road (DK47) which is well-signposted. Once you reach Zakopane, follow the signs towards the center of the town. After arriving in the town, navigate to the intersection of ul. Krupówki and ul. Kościuszki. From there, continue on ul. Kościuszki until you see the signs leading to Dziura. The cave is located a short drive from the center, approximately 10 minutes away. Make sure to park in designated areas as illegal parking may incur fines.
Public Transportation
To reach Dziura by public transportation, take a bus from nearby towns or cities to Zakopane. Buses frequently run from places like Nowy Targ and Kraków to Zakopane. Once you arrive at the Zakopane bus station, you can take a local bus or a taxi to the cave. Look for bus number 11, which will take you towards the area of Dziura. The bus ride will take approximately 20 minutes. Ensure to have some cash for the bus fare, typically around 5-10 PLN.
Walking
If you are already in Zakopane and prefer to walk, you can hike to Dziura from the town center. Start from ul. Krupówki, heading towards ul. Kościuszki. Continue straight until you reach the entrance to the trail leading to Dziura. The hike is approximately 4 km and takes around 1 hour. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and take some water along. The trail is well-marked and offers beautiful views of the surrounding landscape.
