Getting There

• Bus

  From Braga, head to the bus station located at Avenida da Liberdade. Take the bus to Barcelos; the journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Barcelos bus station, exit the station and turn right onto Avenida da Liberdade. Walk straight for about 500 meters until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Rua da Liberdade, and continue straight for another 300 meters. Finally, turn left onto Largo da Porta Nova, and you will find the New Gate Tower at number 22.

• Train

  From Braga, go to the Braga train station located at Praça da Estação. Take a train towards Porto and get off at the Barcelos train station, which takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Barcelos train station, exit and head straight onto Avenida da Liberdade for about 10 minutes. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Rua da Liberdade. Walk for another 300 meters, then turn left onto Largo da Porta Nova. The New Gate Tower will be at number 22.

• Walking

  If you are already in Barcelos, start from the central square, Praça da República. From the square, head northwest on Rua do Comércio until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto Rua da Liberdade. Continue walking for about 400 meters, then turn left onto Largo da Porta Nova. The New Gate Tower is located at number 22.

• Taxi

  You can take a taxi from anywhere in Braga to the New Gate Tower in Barcelos. Simply tell the driver to take you to 'Largo da Porta Nova 22, Barcelos'. The ride will take around 30 minutes, depending on traffic.
