Bus
From the center of Caldas da Rainha, head to the main bus station located at Avenida da Liberdade. Look for the bus with the destination to São Mamede or directly to Grutas da Moeda. The trip will take approximately 20-30 minutes. Once you arrive at the nearest bus stop in São Mamede, walk about 1 kilometer along R. das Grutas da Moeda until you reach the entrance of the Coin Caves.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Caldas da Rainha. Head east on Rua 1 de Maio and continue straight until you reach the N8 road. Take a right onto N8 and follow the road signs for São Mamede. The ride will take about 30-40 minutes. Once you reach São Mamede, follow the signs to R. das Grutas da Moeda, which is approximately 1 kilometer from the main road.
Walking
If you're up for a walk, start from the Praça da República in the center of Caldas da Rainha. Head southeast on Rua de Cister until you reach the roundabout. Take the second exit onto Rua 1 de Maio and continue walking until you reach the N8 road. Cross carefully and follow the signs towards São Mamede. This route is approximately 5 kilometers and will take about 1 hour to walk. Once you reach São Mamede, follow R. das Grutas da Moeda until you arrive at the Coin Caves.
Taxi or Ride-sharing
For a more comfortable option, you can use a taxi or a ride-sharing service like Uber. Simply request a ride to 'R. das Grutas da Moeda, 2495-028 São Mamede'. The trip will take around 15-20 minutes from the center of Caldas da Rainha, depending on traffic.
