Getting There

• Walking

  If you are in the city center of Évora, start at Praça do Giraldo. Head south on Rua 5 de Outubro, continuing straight until you reach Rua de Cândido dos Reis. Turn left onto Rua de Cândido dos Reis. Continue on this road until you reach the intersection with Rua do Comércio. Take a right here. Follow this street until you come to the main road, Avenida de Lisboa. Cross the road and continue straight ahead, passing by various shops and cafes. After about 15 minutes of walking, you will see a sign for Convent of the Carthusians on your left. The entrance is slightly set back from the street, so keep an eye out for it.

• Bus

  From the main bus station in Évora (Terminal Rodoviário), take bus number 7 towards Herdade do Freixo. The bus ride will take approximately 15 minutes. Get off at the stop named 'Convento dos Cartuxos' (Convent of the Carthusians). Once you exit the bus, the convent is a short walk away. Follow the signs or ask locals for directions if needed, as the convent is nearby and well-known.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops in the city center. Start your journey from Praça do Giraldo, heading south on Rua 5 de Outubro. After a few minutes, turn left onto Rua de Cândido dos Reis, then take a right on Rua do Comércio. Continue until you reach Avenida de Lisboa. Follow Avenida de Lisboa until you see signs for the Convent of the Carthusians. The ride should take about 10-15 minutes, depending on your pace.
