Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are near the Évora Cathedral, start by facing the front entrance of the cathedral. Walk down Rua do Cais towards the city center. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Rua 5 de Outubro. Turn left onto Rua 5 de Outubro and walk straight for about 5 minutes. You will see Praça do Giraldo ahead, a large open square with cafes and historic buildings.

    From the Roman Temple of Évora, exit the site and head towards the main road, Rua de Serpa Pinto. Turn right onto Rua de Serpa Pinto and walk straight until you reach the traffic circle. Take the second exit onto Avenida de São Sebastião. Continue for about 10 minutes until you reach Praça do Giraldo, which will be on your right.

    If you are near the University of Évora, exit the university grounds and head southeast on Rua de Dom João III. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Rua 5 de Outubro. Turn right and follow Rua 5 de Outubro for about 5 minutes. You will arrive at Praça do Giraldo, a vibrant square filled with shops and restaurants.

    If you are at the Évora bus station, exit the station and head south on Avenida da Liberdade. Walk straight for about 15 minutes, passing through the city gates. Continue on Avenida da Liberdade until it turns into Rua de 5 de Outubro. Praça do Giraldo will be on your left.
