Ferry
From the center of Faro, make your way to the ferry terminal located at Cais da Porta Nova. You can walk there from the main square, Praça da República, by heading southeast on Rua de Santo António until you reach the waterfront. Alternatively, you can take a taxi or use a ride-sharing app to get to the terminal. Once you arrive at the ferry terminal, purchase a ticket for the ferry to Ilha Culatra. Ferries typically run regularly, so check the schedule posted at the terminal. Board the ferry and enjoy a scenic ride across the Ria Formosa. The ferry will take you directly to Ilha Culatra, which is the closest point to Ponte culatra.
Walking
Once you arrive at Ilha Culatra, disembark from the ferry and follow the main path leading off the dock. You will find yourself on a sandy path that leads towards the village. Follow the signs pointing towards Ponte Culatra. It’s a pleasant walk of about 30-40 minutes. As you walk, you will pass by local houses and can enjoy views of the surrounding landscape. Keep an eye out for signs that will guide you towards the bridge area, as it can be a bit winding. Upon reaching Ponte culatra, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery and perhaps take some photographs.
