Getting There

• Bus

  From Faro city center, head to the Faro Bus Station located on Avenida da República. Take the bus to Silves, which typically departs every hour. The journey takes approximately 45 minutes. Once you arrive in Silves, disembark at the Silves bus terminal. From there, walk towards the Rua do Sagrado Coracão de Maria, which is about a 15-minute walk. Head northeast on Avenida da Liberdade, then turn left onto Rua 1º de Maio. Continue straight, and you will reach the Cathedral of Silves.

• Train

  From Faro Train Station, buy a ticket for a train heading to Tunes. The trains run regularly, and the trip to Tunes takes about 30 minutes. Upon arriving at Tunes station, transfer to a regional bus that goes to Silves. The bus ride from Tunes to Silves will take around 20 minutes. Once you reach Silves, follow the signs to the town center, and proceed to Rua do Sagrado Coracão de Maria, which is a short 10-minute walk from the bus stop.

• Taxi

  If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi from Faro to the Cathedral of Silves. Simply hail a taxi from any location in Faro. The taxi ride will take approximately 30 minutes, depending on traffic. Provide the driver with the address: Rua do Sagrado Coracão de Maria, 8300-146 Silves. This is a convenient option if you are traveling in a group or have heavy luggage.

• Walking

  If you are already in Silves, you can reach the Cathedral of Silves on foot. Start at the Silves Castle, which is a well-known landmark in the area. From the castle, head southeast on Rua da Barroca and continue straight. When you reach Rua 1º de Maio, take a right, and then continue straight until you arrive at Rua do Sagrado Coracão de Maria where the Cathedral is located. This walk will take approximately 15 minutes.
