Start at the center of Lamego, at Praça da República. From the square, head northeast on Rua da República towards Rua do Comércio. Continue straight for about 500 meters until you reach the intersection with Avenida de Lisboa. Turn left onto Avenida de Lisboa. Follow this road for approximately 1.5 kilometers, enjoying the views of the surrounding countryside. When you reach the roundabout, take the second exit towards Vila Real. After about 100 meters, look for signs indicating 'Casa de Mateus' to your right. Follow the signs, and you will arrive at the Casa de Mateus.

From Lamego's main bus station, take the bus to Vila Real; buses run frequently throughout the day. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Vila Real bus station, exit and head straight down Rua da Liberdade, continuing to follow the signs for Casa de Mateus. It is about a 20-minute walk from the bus station, heading northeast along Avenida de Lisboa. You will see directional signs guiding you to your destination.
