Getting There

  • Metro

    Take the Lisbon Metro to the 'Alameda' station, which is on both the Green and Red lines. From 'Alameda', transfer to the Red line towards 'Aeroporto' and get off at 'Oriente' station. Once at Oriente, follow the signs to the 'Gare do Oriente' bus terminal. From there, take bus number 728 towards 'Cais do Sodré'. Get off at the 'Corte Inglês' stop, and walk approximately 10 minutes to Praça do Império.

    Catch Tram 15E from 'Cais do Sodré' towards 'Algés'. Disembark at 'Praça do Comércio' and transfer to Tram 28E, which will take you to 'Campo de Ourique'. Get off at the 'Praça do Império' stop. The Empire Square Garden is just a short walk from there.

    From Rossio Square, take Bus number 714 towards 'Cascais'. Get off at 'Jardim da Estrela' stop. From there, walk about 15 minutes to the Praça do Império. Head northwest on 'Rua da Estrela' until you reach 'Rua de São Bento', then turn right. Continue until you reach the garden.
