Getting There

• Metro

  To reach the Galveias Palace Library from central areas of Lisbon, start by making your way to the nearest metro station. If you are near the Rossio Square, head to the Rossio Metro Station (Green Line). Take the train towards Cais do Sodré and change at the Baixa-Chiado station for the Blue Line. Take the Blue Line towards Santa Apolónia and get off at the Campo Pequeno station. Upon exiting the metro, follow the signs to Campo Pequeno, and you will find the library within a short walking distance.

• Bus

  If you prefer taking a bus, you can catch the bus lines 720, 767, or 774 to Campo Pequeno. Make sure to board from a bus stop that serves these lines, which can be found in various tourist areas like Praça do Comércio or Marquês de Pombal. Once you arrive at Campo Pequeno, the Galveias Palace Library is just a short walk from the bus stop.

• Tram

  From the city center, you can also take Tram 28, which is a popular route among tourists. Get off at the Graça stop and walk to the nearest bus stop to catch bus number 767 towards Campo Pequeno. Once you arrive at the Campo Pequeno stop, the library is easily accessible by foot.

• Walking

  If you're close enough, you can walk to the Galveias Palace Library. For example, if you are near the Lisbon Zoo, it’s about a 25-minute walk. Head southeast on Av. de Berna, then turn left onto Av. João XXI. Continue straight until you reach Campo Pequeno where the library is located. Look for the large building with the iconic dome; the library entrance is on the side.
