Getting There

  • Metro

    Start your journey by taking the Lisbon Metro. Head to either the Cais do Sodré station or the Baixa-Chiado station. If you're at Cais do Sodré, take the Green Line towards Telheiras and get off at the Rossio station. If you're starting from Baixa-Chiado, take the Blue Line towards Santa Apolónia and transfer at Rossio. At Rossio, exit the metro and head towards the exit that leads to Praça da Figueira.

  • Tram

    From Praça da Figueira, look for tram number 15E which departs from the tram stop located at the square. Board the tram heading towards Algés. Enjoy the scenic route as the tram passes through iconic Lisbon neighborhoods. Stay on the tram until you reach the 'Belém' stop.

  • Walking

    Once you disembark at the 'Belém' stop, walk towards the riverside. Head down Avenida da Índia, and you will see the 'Padrão dos Descobrimentos' (Monument to the Discoveries) on your left. Continue walking along the river until you reach the 'Jardim da Praça do Império' (Garden of Empire Square). The Navy Planetarium is located within this garden area, specifically at Praça do Império, 1400-206 Lisboa. It should be directly ahead as you approach the garden.

  • Bus

    Alternatively, if you prefer to take a bus from Praça da Figueira, you can catch bus number 728 heading towards 'Algés'. Get off at the 'Mosteiro dos Jerónimos' stop. From there, the Navy Planetarium is about a 10-minute walk. Head towards the river and follow the same walking directions as mentioned previously.
