Getting There

• On Foot

  From the Guimarães train station, exit and head straight towards Avenida de Conde de Margaride. Turn left and walk along the avenue until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Rua de São Paulo. Continue walking until you reach the Praça de Santiago. From there, take the pedestrian street Rua de Santa Maria, which leads directly to the Guimarães Castle. After visiting the castle, head back to the Praça de Santiago, then take Rua de D. João IV, which will lead you to the main square, Praça da Oliveira. From here, follow Rua de Alberto Sampaio, which will take you to the historic center. Keep walking until you reach the intersection with Rua das Carmelitas. Livraria Lello is located at R. das Carmelitas 144 in Porto, so you will need to take a bus or a train to Porto from Guimarães.

• Bus

  From Guimarães, go to the bus station located near the city center. Look for a bus heading to Porto. The bus ride will take approximately 1 hour. Once you arrive at the Porto bus station, exit the station and head towards the metro station. Take the metro Line A (Blue Line) towards Senhor de Matosinhos. After 5 stops, get off at the Aliados station. From there, exit the station and walk towards Avenida dos Aliados. Continue walking straight until you reach Rua das Carmelitas. Turn left on Rua das Carmelitas, and Livraria Lello will be at number 144.

• Train

  At the Guimarães train station, board a train heading to Porto. The journey will take about 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at the Porto São Bento station, exit the station and head towards Avenida dos Aliados. Walk down Avenida dos Aliados until you reach the intersection with Rua das Carmelitas. Turn left onto Rua das Carmelitas, and you will find Livraria Lello at number 144.
