Walking
From the center of Ponte de Lima, head southwest towards Rua da Alegria. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Rua do Comércio. Turn left onto Rua do Comércio and walk until you reach the bridge over the Lima River. Cross the bridge and follow the signs towards Caniçada Dam. After crossing, take the first right onto Estrada da Caniçada and continue walking straight for about 2 kilometers. You will see signs directing you to the Rio Cávado.
Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Ponte de Lima. Start from the town center and ride towards the Ponte de Lima Bridge. After crossing the bridge, take the first right onto Estrada da Caniçada. Follow this road for approximately 2 kilometers, keeping an eye out for scenic views along the way. The Rio Cávado will be on your left as you approach the Caniçada Dam.
Public Transport
Head to the main bus station in Ponte de Lima located near the town center. Look for buses heading towards Caniçada or nearby villages. The bus ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes. Once you arrive at the Caniçada Dam stop, exit the bus and follow the signs towards the Rio Cávado, which is a short walk from the bus stop.
