Public Transport
From the center of Ponte de Lima, walk to the main bus station located at Rua da Estação. It is about a 10-minute walk from the Praça da República. Once at the bus station, look for the bus that goes to Sistelo. The bus ride may take around 30-40 minutes. Make sure to inform the driver you want to get off at Sistelo. Upon arrival in Sistelo, follow the signs to the village center, which should be a short walk from the bus stop.
Walking
If you prefer to walk to Sistelo, start from the center of Ponte de Lima and head southwest on Avenida dos Combatentes da Grande Guerra. Continue along the river until you reach the bridge. Cross the bridge and take the path that leads you through the countryside towards Sistelo. This route is approximately 8 kilometers and may take around 2-3 hours depending on your pace. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and carry water, as the path can be uneven in places.
Cycling
If you want to cycle, rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Ponte de Lima. Start at the main square, Praça da República, and follow the signs for the Ecovia do Lima, which runs along the river. This bike path will take you toward Sistelo. The distance is about 8 kilometers, and it should take you around 30-40 minutes to bike there, depending on your speed. Enjoy the scenic views along the way!
