If you are near the São Bento Metro Station, take the Line D (Yellow Line) towards Senhor de Matosinhos. Get off at the next stop, which is Trindade. At Trindade, transfer to Line A (Blue Line) towards Estádio do Dragão. After one stop, get off at the Aliados station. From there, walk straight for about 5 minutes until you reach Praça Dom João I, which will be on your left.

Find a tram stop for the Tram Line 1, which runs along the riverfront. Board the tram towards the Hospital de São João. Enjoy the scenic ride and disembark at the São Bento stop. From there, it’s a short 10-minute walk to Praça Dom João I. Head east on Rua de 31 de Janeiro and then turn left onto Rua de Almeida Garrett, where you'll find the square.

Locate a bus stop near you and catch the bus number 204 or 303 towards Campanhã. Get off at the stop named 'Aliados'. From there, it’s a short walk to Praça Dom João I. Head down Avenida dos Aliados, and the square will be on your right.

If you're near the Ribeira area, you can walk to Praça Dom João I. Head up Rua da Ribeira Nova, continue onto Rua de Cândido dos Reis, and then take a right onto Rua de 31 de Janeiro. Walk straight for about 15 minutes, and you will arrive at Praça Dom João I.
