Car
If you are driving from Santarém, take the A1 highway and then the A23 towards Abrantes. Exit at the N3 in the direction of Lapas. Follow the N3 for about 15 km until you reach Lapas. Once in Lapas, head to Largo das Catacumbas, where you will find the entrance to Caves Lapas. Parking is available nearby, but be mindful of parking regulations.
Public Transportation
From Santarém, take the train to Abrantes. Trains run regularly, and the journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Once at Abrantes, you can catch a local bus to Lapas. Check the bus schedule at the station, as service may vary. After arriving in Lapas, walk to Largo das Catacumbas, which is a short distance from the bus stop.
Taxi or Ride-Sharing
If you prefer not to drive or use public transport, consider taking a taxi or using a ride-sharing app from Santarém or Abrantes directly to Caves Lapas at Largo das Catacumbas. This option may be more expensive but offers convenience, especially if traveling in a group. Expect to pay around €20-€30 from Santarém to Lapas.
