Walking
From Setúbal city center, head towards the Setúbal bus station (Terminal Rodoviário). Once you reach the bus station, look for the bus heading to Lisbon. The bus ride will take approximately 50 minutes to an hour. Upon arrival at Lisbon's bus terminal (Sete Rios), exit the terminal and look for the metro station nearby. Take the Blue Line (Linha Azul) towards Santa Apolónia. After a few stops, disembark at Santa Apolónia station. Upon exiting the metro station, head towards the Tagus River, and follow the signs to Alfama. It’s about a 15-minute walk uphill to Largo Portas do Sol, where you can enjoy stunning views of the city.
Train
From Setúbal train station, board a train to Lisbon (Lisboa). The trains usually go to the station called Praça do Comércio. After about a 30-minute ride, you will arrive at the Cais do Sodré station. Exit the station and walk towards the ferry terminal. From there, take a taxi or use a rideshare app to reach Largo Portas do Sol in the Alfama district, which should take around 10-15 minutes.
Bus
Walk to the closest bus stop in Setúbal and catch the bus number 1 or 3 that goes directly to Lisbon. The journey will take about an hour. Once you arrive in Lisbon, get off at the nearest stop to Praça do Comércio and follow the signs to the metro station. Take the Blue Line (Linha Azul) towards Santa Apolónia. After a few stops, get off at Santa Apolónia station. From there, walk for about 15 minutes uphill to Largo Portas do Sol.
