Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from the Viana do Castelo train station, exit the station and head east on Avenida 25 de Abril. Continue straight for about 800 meters until you reach Praça da República. Here, you will see the beautiful Town Hall (Câmara Municipal) on your right. From the square, walk towards Rua da Bandeira and follow it, which will lead you into the heart of the city. After about 400 meters, turn left onto Rua de São João, and continue straight until you reach the riverfront. Walk along the riverside promenade (Cais da Alfândega) for approximately 500 meters. At the end of the promenade, take a right turn onto Avenida de São Gonçalo, which will lead you directly to the entrance of City Park (Parque da Cidade).

    From the center of Viana do Castelo, head to the nearest bus stop located on Praça da República. Take the bus number 2, which runs regularly to several parts of the city, including the City Park.
