Walking
Start at the central square of Viana do Castelo, Praça da República. From there, head northeast on Rua de São Bento. Continue straight until you reach the junction with Rua da Bandeira. Turn left onto Rua da Bandeira and follow it until you reach the end of the street. At the end, turn right onto Avenida de Cabo Verde. Continue walking straight for about 1 kilometer, passing by shops and cafes. You will eventually see the signs for 'Santa Luzia'. As you approach, you will need to climb a series of steps that lead up to the Escadório. These steps are known for their beautiful views of Viana do Castelo and the surrounding area.
Public Transport (Bus)
From the central bus station in Viana do Castelo, take the bus heading towards Santa Luzia. The bus stops are located near the Praça da República. Once on the bus, notify the driver that you want to get off at the Santa Luzia stop. After disembarking, follow the signs towards the Escadório, which is a short walk away. You will see the steps leading up to Escadório just a few minutes from the bus stop.
Bicycle
If you prefer to cycle, rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Viana do Castelo. Start from the city center and head towards the coastal road, Avenida de Cabo Verde. Cycle along the avenue until you see the signs for Santa Luzia. There are dedicated bike lanes for most of the route. Once you reach the Santa Luzia area, park your bicycle and walk up the steps to reach the Escadório.
