Walking
Start from the central square of Guayama, Plaza de Recreo. Head east on Calle Caguas for about 0.5 miles. You will pass several local shops and cafes. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Avenida José de Diego. Turn left onto Avenida José de Diego. Walk for another 0.7 miles, and you will see signs pointing towards Patillas. Follow these signs until you reach the intersection with PR-3. Cross at the pedestrian crosswalk and continue straight. Charco Azul is approximately 3 miles down this road on your left side. Look for a small parking area and trail entrance leading to the lake.
Public Transport
From Plaza de Recreo in Guayama, walk to the nearest bus stop located on Calle Caguas, where you can catch a 'guagua' (public bus) heading to Patillas. Ask the driver to drop you off at the stop closest to Charco Azul. The bus ride will take about 30-40 minutes. Once you get off, follow the signs for Charco Azul, which will guide you along the walking path towards the lake. It’s a short 0.3-mile walk from the bus stop.
