From the main entrance of Burlingame State Park, head west on Burlingame State Park Rd toward US-1. Merge onto US-1 S and continue for about 12 miles. Take the exit onto RI-138 E toward Newport. Follow RI-138 E for approximately 5 miles until it merges with US-1 S. Continue on US-1 S into Newport. Once in Newport, turn left onto Washington St, and you will see the Rose Island Lighthouse at 1 Washington St, Newport, RI 02840 on your right.

From Burlingame State Park, you will need to take a taxi or rideshare service to the nearest bus stop that serves public transit. The closest option is the 'Killingly Rd & US-1' bus stop. Once there, board the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) bus number 60 toward Newport. Stay on the bus for about 45 minutes. Disembark at the 'Washington St & Marlborough St' stop. From there, walk east on Washington St for about 5 minutes to reach the Rose Island Lighthouse at 1 Washington St, Newport, RI 02840.
