Car
Start at the Beavertail State Park entrance and head east on Beavertail Road. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Route 138. Turn left onto Route 138 and follow the signs towards Newport. After approximately 6 miles, you'll enter Newport. Once in Newport, follow the signs for Washington Street. Continue on Washington Street until you reach 1 Washington St, where the Rose Island Lighthouse is located. There is limited parking available near the lighthouse.
Public Transportation
From Beavertail State Park, you will need to first take a bus to the nearest public transportation hub. Head to the nearest bus stop on Route 138 and take the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) bus number 60 towards Newport. Ride the bus until you reach the Newport Gateway Center. From the Gateway Center, transfer to bus number 67 towards Broadway. This will take you to the vicinity of Washington Street. Disembark at the stop closest to Washington Street and walk to 1 Washington St. The Rose Island Lighthouse will be visible from there. Be sure to check the RIPTA schedule for the latest bus times.
