Getting There

  • Car

    If you are traveling by car, start your journey on the Blackstone River Bikeway. Follow the Bikeway until you reach the nearest road access point, typically at Ashton Avenue or another local street that connects to Route 116. Turn right onto Route 116 and continue driving north. After approximately 5 miles, look for the signs directing you to I-295 North. Merge onto I-295 North and continue for about 3 miles. Take exit 10 for RI-146 North toward Worcester. Merge onto RI-146 North and follow for about 2.5 miles. Take the exit for I-295 North again, and in just a few minutes, you will see the Blackstone Valley Visitor Center on your right. There is no parking fee at the Visitor Center.

    If you prefer public transportation, begin your journey at the nearest bus stop along the Blackstone River Bikeway. Check the local bus schedules, as you will need to take the bus to the closest transit hub, such as the Lincoln Mall area. From there, catch the RIPTA Route 66 bus towards Providence. After about a 20-minute ride, get off at the stop near I-295. You may need to walk about 15 minutes to reach the Visitor Center from the bus stop. Be sure to check the current bus schedules for any potential fare costs, as bus tickets might range from $2 to $5 depending on your route.
