Getting There

  • Walking

    From the Old Harbor area, head north on Water Street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Chapel Street. Turn left onto Chapel Street and follow it until it merges into Corn Neck Road. Continue walking along Corn Neck Road, which will take you past several scenic views of the island. After approximately a mile, you will reach the intersection with Mohegan Trail. Turn right onto Mohegan Trail, and in about half a mile, you will see The Painted Rock on your left.

  • Biking

    If you have rented a bike, start from the Old Harbor area. Ride north on Water Street, then turn left onto Chapel Street. Continue to follow Chapel Street as it turns into Corn Neck Road. Keep cycling along Corn Neck Road for about a mile. When you reach Mohegan Trail, make a right turn. The Painted Rock will be located on your left after a half-mile ride.

  • Public Transportation (Bus)

    From Old Harbor, catch the Block Island Transit bus that goes towards the north end of the island. Inform the driver you want to go to Mohegan Trail. The bus will take you along the route, and you can get off at the nearest stop to The Painted Rock. After disembarking, walk a short distance along Mohegan Trail, and The Painted Rock will be on your left side.
