Walking
From the center of Napatree Point Conservation Area, head towards the beach. Walk along the shoreline towards the east. Continue walking for approximately 0.5 miles until you reach the end of the peninsula. Fort Mansfield is located on the eastern tip. Pay attention to the signs directing you to the fort. The fort is a short walk from the beach, and you will see its remnants as you approach.
Biking
If you have access to a bike, you can cycle from the center of Napatree Point Conservation Area. Follow the main path leading towards the beach. Once you reach the shoreline, head east along the beach road. The distance is about 0.5 miles. Biking is allowed in the area, so you can enjoy a scenic ride while heading to Fort Mansfield.
Public Transportation
If you're traveling by public transportation, take a local bus to Westerly. From the Westerly bus station, you can take a taxi or rideshare service to the entrance of Napatree Point Conservation Area. The distance from the bus station to the entrance is approximately 2 miles. Once there, follow the walking path to reach Fort Mansfield as described in the walking guidance.
Car
If you are driving, head towards Napatree Point Conservation Area via US-1 South. Once you reach Watch Hill, look for signs directing you to the conservation area. Park at the designated parking area near the entrance. From there, it is a short walk to the beach, where you can follow the shoreline eastward to Fort Mansfield, which is about a 0.5 mile walk from the beach access point.
