Getting There

• Walking from Newport Cliff Walk

  If you are at any point along the Newport Cliff Walk, you can easily reach Hunter House by walking. Exit the Cliff Walk at the nearest access point. The closest one to Hunter House is at Easton’s Beach. From there, walk north on Memorial Boulevard (also known as Route 138) for about 0.6 miles. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Washington Street. Turn left onto Washington Street, and Hunter House will be on your right at 54 Washington St. This walk takes roughly 15-20 minutes.

• Driving

  If you are driving, head towards Washington Street from any point in Newport. Use GPS or a map application and enter '54 Washington St, Newport, RI 02840'. There is limited street parking available nearby, so be prepared to find a spot. Be mindful of any parking regulations, as some areas may require a parking permit or meter payment. The drive from popular locations like the Newport Mansions can take approximately 5-10 minutes, depending on traffic.

• Public Transportation

  If you prefer using public transportation, you can take the Newport Public Transit bus service. Look for a bus route that heads towards the downtown area or Washington Street. The closest bus stop to Hunter House is at the intersection of Washington Street and Memorial Blvd. Once you get off the bus, walk about 2 minutes north on Washington Street to reach Hunter House.
