Car
If you're driving from Newport, take Route 138 West. Continue on Route 138 until you reach the intersection with Route 1. Merge onto Route 1 North. Take the exit toward North Kingstown/Wickford. Continue on Post Road (Route 1A) and follow the signs towards Wickford. Once in Wickford, look for the signs directing you to Poplar Point Lighthouse. Note that parking is available near the waterfront, but there may be a small fee for parking in some areas.
Public Transportation
To reach Poplar Point Lighthouse via public transport, take the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) bus service. Board the #63 bus towards Wickford Junction from downtown Newport. The bus will take you along Post Road. Get off at the Wickford Village stop. From there, it's about a 15-minute walk to the lighthouse. Follow the signs towards the waterfront, and you will arrive at the lighthouse. Be sure to check the RIPTA schedule for the most current bus times.
Walking
If you’re already in Wickford Village, walking to Poplar Point Lighthouse is a pleasant option. Start at the Wickford Village Park and head towards the waterfront. Follow the shoreline path to the lighthouse. The walk is approximately 1 mile and offers beautiful views of the harbor along the way. Wear comfortable shoes and enjoy the scenic route!
