If you are traveling by car, start by heading south on I-95 S from Providence. Take exit 9 for RI-4 S toward Narragansett. Merge onto RI-4 S and then continue onto US-1 S. After about 20 miles, take the exit toward RI-1 S/RI-2 S. Continue on US-1 S for approximately 10 miles, then take the exit for RI-1 S toward Charlestown. After exiting, turn left onto Fort Ninigret Rd. The destination, Fort Ninigret, will be on your left at 73 Fort Ninigret Rd, Charlestown, RI 02813. There may be parking available on-site.
Public Transportation
For public transportation, you can take the Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) Bus #66 from downtown Providence to South Kingstown. Ride the bus until you reach the stop at the intersection of US-1 and Fort Ninigret Rd. From there, it is about a 1-mile walk to Fort Ninigret. Be sure to check the RIPTA schedule for bus times, as frequency may vary, especially on weekends. There is no direct bus to Fort Ninigret, so planning your trip in advance is essential.
