Walking
From the heart of Federal Hill, head east on Atwells Avenue. Continue walking for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with Westminster Street. Turn right onto Westminster Street and walk for another quarter-mile. You will pass several shops and restaurants. Shortly after passing the Providence Public Library, you will see Market Square on your left. The Historic Market Square is located in Downtown Providence and is well marked.

If you prefer to take public transportation, you can catch the RIPTA bus Route 1 or Route 32 from Federal Hill. Head to the nearest bus stop on Atwells Avenue. The fare is $2.00 (exact change required). Board the bus and ride for approximately 10-15 minutes until you reach the stop at Market Square. Once you disembark, you will be right at Historic Market Square.
