From downtown Providence, walk to the RI Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) bus stop at Kennedy Plaza. Take bus number 60 towards Newport. The bus will take you directly to Newport. Once you arrive in Newport, disembark at the main bus terminal. From there, walk towards America's Cup Avenue, then follow the signs towards the waterfront. The Newport Harbor Lighthouse is located along the water's edge. It should take about 20 minutes to walk from the bus terminal to the lighthouse.

Start at Providence's Amtrak or MBTA train station. Take a train heading towards Boston and get off at the Kingston station. From there, transfer to a RIPTA bus heading to Newport (check the schedule for the right bus number). Once you arrive in Newport, head towards America's Cup Avenue and walk to the waterfront. The Newport Harbor Lighthouse is a short walk from the bus stop.
