Car
If you're driving from anywhere in South County, head toward Route 1 North. Take the exit for Route 138 East toward Newport. Continue on Route 138 until you reach the Newport Bridge. After crossing the bridge, follow signs for Newport. Merge onto America's Cup Avenue, then turn left onto Thames Street. Follow Thames Street until you reach the intersection with Bellevue Avenue. Turn right onto Bellevue Avenue and continue until you see Ochre Point Avenue on your left. The Breakers will be on your left at 44 Ochre Point Avenue. Parking is available nearby, but be aware that there may be a parking fee depending on the season.
Public Transportation
To reach The Breakers using public transportation, take the RIPTA bus route 60 from South County to Newport. The bus will drop you off at the Newport Gateway Center. From there, transfer to the Newport Trolley, which provides service to various tourist attractions. Board the trolley heading toward The Breakers. The trolley will take you directly to the mansion. Be sure to check the current bus and trolley schedules for the latest times and fares, as costs may vary based on the service you choose.
Bicycle
If you prefer biking, you can ride along the scenic Ocean Drive. Start from South County and head toward Newport, making your way to the coastline. Follow the signs for Ocean Drive, which will eventually lead you to the entrance of The Breakers. There are bike racks available at the mansion for you to secure your bicycle. Remember to wear a helmet and follow traffic rules for safety.
