Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car from the center of Bistrița, start by heading southeast on Strada Dornei. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Strada Bistrita, then turn left. Follow Strada Bistrita until you see signs for DJ172. Merge onto DJ172 and continue for about 10 kilometers. Look for signs indicating Schullerwald. The entrance to Schullerwald is well-marked, and you will find ample parking available.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Schullerwald using public transportation, head to the Bistrița bus station located in the city center. Look for buses that head towards the nearby villages or hiking areas; you can ask locals for the bus number that goes to Schullerwald. The bus ride typically takes around 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the nearest stop, you may need to walk approximately 1 to 1.5 kilometers to the entrance of Schullerwald. Ensure to check the bus schedule ahead of time, as services may vary.

  For those who prefer walking, if you are already close to Schullerwald, you can take a scenic route from the city center of Bistrița. Start on Strada Dornei and follow it into the surrounding nature. The walk is approximately 5 kilometers and will take about an hour. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water, as parts of the path may be rugged.
