Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start from the nearest major city, Constanța. Take the A2 motorway towards Bucharest and exit onto the DN3 towards Cernavodă. From Cernavodă, continue on DN3 to Medgidia. From Medgidia, take DN22 towards Babadag. After passing through Babadag, follow the signs to Merești. Peștera Merești is located just outside the village of Merești, and there should be signs indicating the cave as you approach. Parking is available near the cave entrance.

• Public Transport

  To reach Peștera Merești using public transportation, take a train from Bucharest to Medgidia. From Medgidia, you can catch a local bus (check the schedule as availability may vary) towards Babadag. Inform the bus driver that you want to get off at Merești. Once you arrive in Merești, it's a short walk to the cave. If the bus does not drop you directly at the cave, ask locals for directions, as they are usually very helpful.

• Walking

  If you find yourself in Merești, Peștera Merești is accessible by foot. From the village center, head towards the outskirts of Merești, following the signs for the cave. The walk should take approximately 15-20 minutes depending on your pace. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes as the path may be uneven and involve some elevation.

• Alternative Transport

  For those who prefer not to walk from the bus stop, consider hiring a local taxi or rideshare service if available. This might be a little more expensive, but it can save you time and effort, especially if you're carrying gear or traveling with a group.
