If you are traveling by car, start from the nearest town, Făgăraș. From Făgăraș, take the DN1 road towards Sibiu. After approximately 40 km, turn onto the DN7C road (Transfăgărășan) towards Bâlea Lac. Continue on this road for about 25 km. Look for signs indicating the turnoff towards Lacul Jgheburoasa, which is a gravel road leading into the mountains. Park your car at the designated parking area. The walk to Lacul Jgheburoasa from the parking area is about 30 minutes along marked trails.

If you prefer public transportation, you can take a bus from Făgăraș to Bâlea Lac. Check the local bus schedules as they may vary. Once you reach Bâlea Lac, you will need to hike to Lacul Jgheburoasa. Follow the marked trails for about 2 hours. Ensure to wear good hiking shoes and carry enough water and snacks for the journey.
