Car
If you are traveling by car, head towards the village of Arefu, located in the Fagaras Mountains region. From the town of Curtea de Arges, take DN7C (Transfagarasan Highway) towards Balea Lac. After approximately 30 km, you will reach Arefu. From Arefu, follow the signs for the trailhead that leads to Peak Arpașu Mare. There is a parking area near the trailhead. Note that parking may incur a small fee, typically around 5-10 RON.

Public Transportation
To reach Arefu via public transportation, take a train to Curtea de Arges from Bucharest or Sibiu. From Curtea de Arges, you can catch a local bus or taxi to Arefu. The bus service may not be very frequent, so it's advisable to check the schedule in advance. Once in Arefu, follow the signs to the trailhead for Peak Arpașu Mare. You may need to walk for about 30 minutes from the bus stop to reach the trailhead.

After reaching the trailhead, the hike to Peak Arpașu Mare will take approximately 2-3 hours depending on your pace. The trail is well-marked but can be steep in places.
