Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start from the town of Făgăraș. Take DN1 towards Sâmbăta de Sus. Follow the road for about 20 kilometers until you reach the village of Sâmbăta de Sus. Once in the village, look for signs directing you to the hiking trails leading to Piatra Caprei. You can park your car at designated areas near the trailheads. Be mindful of any parking fees that may apply.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Piatra Caprei by public transportation, take a train or a bus from Brașov to Făgăraș. From Făgăraș, you can catch a local bus to Sâmbăta de Sus. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Upon arriving in Sâmbăta de Sus, you will need to walk to the starting point of the hiking trail. Look for local maps or ask residents for directions to the trailhead leading to Piatra Caprei. Ensure to check the bus schedules in advance, as they may vary, especially on weekends.

• Hiking

  Once you have reached Sâmbăta de Sus, you will need to hike to Piatra Caprei. The trail begins at the marked trailhead in the village. The hike is moderately challenging and takes approximately 2-3 hours depending on your pace. Make sure to wear appropriate hiking gear and carry enough water and snacks for the journey.
