Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, start your journey from the nearest town, Fagaras. Head southeast on DN1 towards the Fagaras Mountains. Continue on DN1 until you reach the junction for DJ105. Turn onto DJ105 and drive towards the village of Cârțișoara. Once in Cârțișoara, follow the signs for the Transfăgărășan road (DN7C) which will take you deeper into the mountains. After driving for approximately 15 kilometers on DN7C, look for the signs for 'Punct Panoramic' and Poteca lui Grigore, which will direct you to a small parking area near the trailhead. There may be a small parking fee, so be prepared with some cash.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Punct Panoramic using public transportation, take a bus from Bucharest or Sibiu to the town of Fagaras. From Fagaras, switch to a local bus heading towards Cârțișoara. Once you arrive in Cârțișoara, you will need to arrange a taxi or find a local shuttle service that can take you to the Transfăgărășan road (DN7C). Inform the driver that you want to visit Punct Panoramic, and they will drop you off at the nearest access point. Expect to pay a small fee for the taxi service, which can vary based on distance.

• Hiking

  If you are already in the Fagaras Mountains and prefer hiking, you can access Punct Panoramic via the Poteca lui Grigore trail. Make sure to have a good map or GPS device as the trails can be tricky. The trailhead is located near the parking area mentioned earlier. Begin your hike on a well-marked path that leads up towards the panoramic viewpoint. The hike is moderately challenging and will take approximately 1-2 hours, depending on your fitness level. Bring plenty of water and snacks, and enjoy the stunning mountain views along the way!
