If you're driving, head to the town of Făgăraș. From the main road (DN1), take the exit towards Făgăraș on DN73. Once in Făgăraș, follow the signs to the city center. The Cetatea Făgărașului is located at Strada Mihai Viteazul 1. You can park nearby; there are public parking spaces available, which may incur a fee depending on the duration of your stay.
Public Transportation
To reach Făgăraș using public transportation, take a train or a bus to the Făgăraș train station or bus station. Several regional trains and buses connect Făgăraș with major cities like Brașov and Sibiu. From the train or bus station, you can either walk (approximately 20 minutes) to Cetatea Făgărașului by heading northwest on Strada Mihai Viteazul, or you can take a local taxi which should cost around 10-15 RON (about 2-3 euros) to the fortress.
