Getting There

• Car

  If you are driving from the center of Galați, head southeast on Strada Domnească towards Bulevardul George Coșbuc. Continue straight to stay on Bulevardul George Coșbuc, then turn left onto Strada 1 Decembrie 1918. Follow this road until you reach the roundabout and take the second exit onto Strada Marea Unire. Continue on this road for about 1 km, then turn right onto Strada Făurei. After about 500 meters, follow the signs to Insula Cailor, and you will see it on your right at the coordinates 45.463107, 28.206516.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Insula Cailor using public transport, start at the main bus station in Galați (Autogara Galați). Take bus number 5 towards Micro 19. Ride for about 15 minutes and get off at the 'Faleza Inferioară' stop. From there, walk towards the riverfront and follow the path along the riverbank for approximately 10 minutes until you reach Insula Cailor. Be sure to check the bus schedule, as they may vary, and be aware that a single bus ticket costs around 2.5 RON.

• Bicycle

  For those who prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the bike-sharing stations in Galați. Start at the central park and follow the bike lanes heading towards the river. Once you reach the riverbank, continue cycling along the path towards Insula Cailor. This route is about 4 km long and should take approximately 20 minutes.
