If you are driving from Târgu Jiu, head northeast on DN67 towards Cărbunești. Continue for about 15 km until you reach the junction with E79. Merge onto E79 and follow the signs toward Bumbești-Jiu. After approximately 20 km, you will arrive in Bumbești-Jiu. The Ruins of Vișina monastery are located directly off E79. Look for parking options along the roadside near the monastery.

To reach the Ruins of Vișina monastery using public transportation, take a bus from Târgu Jiu to Bumbești-Jiu. Buses operate regularly from the Târgu Jiu bus station. The journey takes about 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at the Bumbești-Jiu bus station, exit and walk approximately 2 km southwest along E79. The ruins will be visible as you approach. Be sure to check the bus schedule for return trips.

If you are already in Bumbești-Jiu and prefer walking, you can reach the Ruins of Vișina monastery on foot. From the center of Bumbești-Jiu, head southwest along E79. The walk is approximately 2 km and should take around 25 minutes. Follow the road signs for the monastery as you approach the area.
